Vancouver based producer The Square Root of Evil (aka Jen Pearson) is predominately known for her quirky IDM chiptune performances, recently opening for Warp recording artists Plaid. On her latest release, “Shiretoko” she delivers a rare appearance as X41, her ambient alias and collaboration with Jon Anastasiades. Using a collection of software and hardware, they draw their influences from a wide variety of sources; organic and inorganic ambiance, astronomy, oceans and internal soundscapes. Together they’ve performed numerous times, including Decibel festival, Pan Ambient and sub.
