Hailing from Novosibirsk, Russia, Alexander Smirnov a.k.a. Shifted Reality (aliases A2M with Michelle Koeth, Shifted Reality & Santerna, Shifted Reality & Endforest, Substanze, Sasha Madden) began producing music without a formal music education at age 15, with a simple and amateur program from the eJay series. A year later, Alex began producing dance music with Propellerheads ReBirth RB-338 which he's still uses to this day. Alex also used Fruityloops to incorporate VSTi synths into his music, as well as to expand his overall production knowledge.
