The Assembly
More than one band has used this name: 1) The Assembly were an experimental band founded by Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure) and Eric C. Radcliffe (producer of Yazoo and Depeche Mode) in London, UK following the split of Yazoo in mid-1983. The idea was to get a new singer for each track, but only one single was made; 'Never Never' featuring former Undertones-frontman Feargal Sharkey. The single reached number 2 on the UK charts in late 1983. An album was initially recorded in 1984 but never released. Vince Clarke went on to form Erasure with singer Andy Bell in 1985.
