The saga of the ghoulies begins in 1997 when singer and guitarist Mange Le Bange and drummer Rod Bender gets together in Rod's parents garage to play some music with no other intention than to kill some time. Despite being kicked out of the garage after some time the duo decides to continue to jam together. Robban Hellvis joins in on guitar shortly after. The bands first single What's wrong gets released in early 1998 on the newly started Cretin Records label and the release is shortly followed by the bands first tour outside of Sweden.
