Dhopec is an underground hip hop outfit from Newcastle, Australia. They have a political conscience in their music and combine phat beats with tight cuts and incisive lyrics. The band was formed by Rhabdomancer and Dr. Fruit in late 2003. Their first "self-titled" album was released in early 2005 after being mixed and mastered by DJ Wasabi of Fortknight Productions. Since then they have had a few tracks played on Triple J and won two awards at the "ABC 1233 Newcastle Music Award".
